I have a seemingly simple question if someone could help me out. The company I work for needs the ability for multiple mappers to access the same data sets from different computers at different locations. We don't have the funds for ArcGIS for Server. Do you know if we can save Geodatabases on a remotely accessible VPN server, map to the server as Z Drive using windows explorer and then connect to the Z drive folder in Catalog to access the same data sets? The data won't need to be edited by multiple users simultaneously, we just need to make sure everyone can edit the data base if needed and the changes are updated on the other mappers computers as instantaneously as possible. This would probably be the best (aka cheapest) solution for us if this would work. Thanks in advanced for the insight.
