I have an ArcGIS 10 project which I use to access two MS Access databases maintained by other departments in my agency and export specific queries to shapefile. I setup ODBC connections which work as they should in ArcGIS 10. Our Cabinet recently aquired ArcGIS 10.2 and I volunteered to be one of the testers, to verify it will work on our networks.
I rebuilt the ODBC database connection in ArcGIS 10.2 but when I attempted to load my project, ArcGIS 10.2 crashed to desktop. I went to ArcCatalog was verified the connections worked properly. I even opened several data tables in each database from within ArcCatalog to verify I could access the data. I then started a brand new project in ArcGIS 10.2 but when I attempted to add the desired query from one of the two Access databases, ArcGIS 10.2 had a CTD.
I opened both ArcGIS 10 and ArcGIS 10.2 in separate windows, then compared the database connection properties, hoping to find a variation in the connection properties which could account for ArcGIS 10.2 behavior. Unfortunately the connection properties were identical.
At this point I am uncertain how to proceed. It puzzles me a database connection would function properly in ArcGIS 10 but a connection in ArcGIS 10.2 to the same database setup in the same fashion would CTD.
