xml recordset document dropping GUID Columns

I can across this as i was migrating some data. when i try to export the data to and xml recordset document and import into a new feature class. all by unique identifier or guid fields are dropped. Is this a bug or am i doing something wrong???

im runing Arc GIS Desktop 10.1 Build 3035..
