date/time field in table can not take BC or BCE (negative) dates??

Does any one here have any experience with entering BC or BCE (negative) dates into a date/time field in an attribute table?

Dates earlier than 100AD entered into the date field returns the error ‘This field must contain a valid date’. While the Time Slider is apparently capable of displaying BC dates. Negative dates entered into the table as text or a number are not recognized by the Time Slider.

Has anyone here dealt with this before? Know of any workarounds or solutions to this issue?
