However it seems most of the solutions are more directed towards funding the ID type of a few land cover types by polygon zone. For example, by using Zonal Statistics (Sum) as Table. I have been stuck on various versions of this for a few weeks and was hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
I want to summarize area by land types AND by zone (polygon). Ideally I would like to add several columns (one for each land type) to the original polygon feature and have its area listed for each polygon record. I have roughly 1,000 zones and 20 land cover types.
It seems like there is no exact tool to achieve this goal (some are close, but cannot deal with multiple land cover types). Or, perhaps I do not fully understand how to do this. Again, if anyone could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.
I am running ArcGIS 10.2, Spatial Analyst is available.
