Trying to Edit Feature Classes in a DB2 Database

I'm getting the following error whenever I try to start an editing session on feature classes within our DB2 database:
We have recently spatially enabled our DB2 database and have created empty feature classes that we would like to populate via an edit session.

I am using ArcGIS Desktop Standard 10.1 and ArcGIS for Server 10.1 Advanced Enterprise Edition with a DB2 Enterprise.

I added the data in question from my DB2.sde connection.

Why can I not edit these feature classes?
My understanding is that I should be able to.

Any thoughts?
