How to access enterprise geodatabase of 10.1 from 10.0

Hi,

I have Arc GIS Desktop 10.1 & Arc SDE for postgres. When I try and connect to enterprise geodatabase of 10.1 from Arc Catalog 10.0, I am not able to connect to it. I tried using add spatial database connection which takes service parameter as an input. But in 10.1 no arc sde service runs on server.

Can some one guide me on this please.
