Alignment of point symbols in legend

I have some data classified as graduated symbols that vary quite a bit in size. In the legend they are aligned to the left, which because of their size difference looks a little weird. Is there a way to have the symbols aligned to the center (of each symbol, not the legend) without converting to graphics and doing it manually?
