Wacom tablet pen won't properly double click. 10.1

ArcGIS 10.1
Windows 8.1
Wacom: Intuos Pen & Touch medium

I have one of the buttons on my Wacom pen assigned to double click whenever I press the button once, but I can not get it to function correctly in ArcGIS. This function is extremely helpful for when you want to edit vertices and really saves a lot of clicking my carpal tunneled wrist.

If I assign double clicking to one of the programmable buttons on the tablet itself, it will work just fine. What is weird is that the double click on the pen works okay if I use it on a layer in the TOC, to get to the properties. But as soon as I move to the map itself and want to get to editing the vertices of a line or polygon, it won't work. At best, it will simply select the feature, but will not get to the edit vertices part. Often times, it will ever so slightly move the feature I just tried to double click.

In Windows, I have the Pen & Touch double click settings to Speed: Fast, and Spatial Tolerance: Small, because I have problems with it accidentally double click things when I am trying to quickly single click a list of features. I have tried adjusting these settings to the opposite extremes with no luck.

The real kicker? Sometimes the double click function DOES work, but it is so rare that I can't reproduce and figure out why works some times.

I realize this is a lot convoluted settings, but any help from other Wacom users would be appreciated.

Double clicking manually with a mouse works just fine. Since posting this, I've decided to just use the double click function mapped to the buttons on the tablet. Problem now? It seems to automatically select all of the vertices (a green/red box with a white box inside) so that I can't just move a single vertex. Something is wonky and I need easy double click work flow back!
