ArcMap crashes on ' not equal to' operator

Hi All,

Sometimes my ArcMap crashes while applying query definition.I am using '<> not equal to' operator for -Ve value e.g.

I have added data from .txt file using Add 'XY data' tool from ArcMap(10.1 Sp1).

Any help would be appreciated.
