I work for a company that surveys pipelines. We get X/Y/Z data from field surveyors. I use this data to draw the route of the pipeline. I do this with the "Points to Line" feature in Data Management Tools. This connects all of the points perfectly, each point connected by a long polyline that traces the route of the pipeline.
However, I would like to leave gaps in the line. Whenever there are no points for a run of over 100', I know that this means that the surveyors have not made it to that segment yet. As such, I'd like to leave a gap in my polyline.
Can I do this automatically? Or do I have to go in and manually "cut" my polyline?
Thanks in advance!
