Working with Subtypes

Hello.

I have a rather simple question, but can't seem to figure out the answer. My dataset is rather complicated with subtypes and domains. When I export out the feature class from the file gdb, any fields with subtypes and domains show the numeric values, and not the descriptions. I've been able to work around the domains by using the 'domain to table' tool, however, I have yet to figure out how to export out a shapefile with the descriptions (not the codes) for fields that have a subtype.

Any suggestions?
