The following may be of use to someone else. For sometime I have wanted to go multiple select by attribute windows open but whenever I click on the menu item for select by attributes it only ever opens up one window and goes to it.
This morning I suddenly noticed I had two of these windows. Then it dawned on me. You can open multiple windows providing you do so from the attribute table button for select by attributes. Even from the same attribute table. This works in 10.1.1. I don't know if it is the case in earlier versions but it might be.
Whether it was intended for this to be the case I don't know but I certainly hope this useful function isn't ever removed. Now we just need to be able to dock these windows as tabs. The button you press can't be added anywhere else I believe but it is very useful none the less.
