Hi i'm trying to put together a business case for us to either buy a new copy of ArcAdvanced or upgrade one of our existing ArcView licences.
at the moment we have only got
2x ArcView 10
1x spatial analyst (and ArcHydro)
could anyone offer up any killer features of ArcInfo/Advanced or changes in 10.1 that i could use to improve my case.
There are a couple of key tools that would really be helpful that are only available in ArcInfo/Advanced but as it's quite an expensive bit of software i will need to make a few more points that these to encourage management to purchase the upgrade.
the main tools of interest that i've found so far are
simplify buildings
collapse duel line to centreline
is there a tool in ArcInfo/Advanced that can make a centre line from a polygon? eg river as a polygon, could you turn this into a line?
The work we do is based on water utility mapping, flood risk assessments, fluvial / pluvial flood risk mapping, watersheds / contributing areas.
