ArcMAP 10 and excel

Hi all,

I am pretty new to esri but I am wondering is it possible to import an excel sheet and create a feature from it. I have no X,Y data include on the sheet. Basically I want to create a color a certan county with a number of locate tickets that we perfomed in the county. I want to do this through 4 states and have a range of tickets. Would I need X,Y data to do this? I have done this but I had the X,Y dat but I do not have this data on this excel sheet.
