Hi everyone,
I am about to do some global ocean analyses and will be using a number of different global datasets. Most data is in GCS WGS84 Datum WGS84 and some is in PCS: World_Cylindrical_Equal_Area, Projection: Cylindrical_Equal_Area. I know I need to use a PCS to calculate area. But what is the best overall projection to use if we care about calculating area across a global scale?
Also do I need to re-project all of the datasets to the same CS first before doing the analysis or will ArcMap do it on the fly for me?
Thanks,
Kim
