Connecting to Database Outside of network.

Hello all,

I am wondering would it be possible for ArcCatalog to connect to a Database that is outside of the network?

For example: Company A's is using Postresql database, and Company B wanting to connect to Company A's Postresql database via the ODBC method in ArcCatalog.

Any help would be appreciated! TIA.
